Biochemistry

Department of Biochemistry, CMC Cochin, is situated on the top floor of Block 9.the department consists of two lecture halls, spacious laboratories, conference hall, research lab and other rooms, at present catering to the needs of 100 MBBS students. The Department is on its way to starting PG courses and other paramedical courses and is well equiped and Spacious for that.

A 24 hour clinical Biochemistry Lab is functioning in the hospital under the supervision of the department. State of the art equipment and dedicated staffs are the highlights of this division.The division encompasses, Biochemistry, Hematology, Sample reception and Laboratory Information System departments.

All biochemical investigations including routine special test is done using Fully automated Dry and Wet Chemistry system. Hormone assays are performed using fully automated chemiluminescence and ELISA system. Nearly 1000 investigations are per day are performed in the clinical lab for the patients of the hospital.

A view from the Department is a beautiful scenery of the Periyar Valley and Western Ghats.
